Join us to celebrate the grand opening of our new FREE ‘Gym in the Park’ on Saturday 30 June 2018 12.00pm – 3.00pm. See poster for the event below.
The event will be held at Rope Walk Gardens and is open to all members of the public. Visitors can enjoy FREE food refreshments, face painting, henna, a bouncy castle, a raffle and watch demonstrations of how to use the park equipment. There will also be a number of local health charities present to offer advice and support to local residents.
This initiative is a result of a true partnership effort between an amazing patient group, a brilliant practice team at Whitechapel Health Centre, Public Health England and Mayor John Biggs‘ team at Tower Hamlets Council. Dr Hasnain Abbasi will be cutting a ribbon, and we’re expecting guests from all over Tower Hamlets to join us for the unveiling.
In 2015, the Patient Participation Group at Whitechapel Health Centre (WHC) asked the practice to help support the establishment of a park gym. The team at WHC quickly escalated this request to local people with support of the patient group, and then took this to the Mayor of Tower Hamlets and Public Health England, who supported the initiative.
